Pickup/Delivery

Accepted Answer

Puppies are expected to be picked up within 72 hours of the ready date, unless prior arrangement has been made with us. Any puppy not picked up past the 72-hour time period without contact from you could be put back up for sale, and any deposit is forfeited.  If puppies are held past the ready date (with prior approval from me), a boarding fee of $10 per day will be charged.  All fees must be paid when the puppy is picked up.

We will not hold a puppy without a deposit for any reason. Deposits are nonrefundable. 
Puppy pickup times are scheduled between 10 A.M. and 4 P.M., Monday - Saturday.  We are closed on Sunday.

Question 2

Deposits

Our deposits are $200 and non-refundable and non-negotiable.  Please do not ask for it to be refunded.  I use this money to maintain my pack.  Your deposit never expires and does apply to the cost of your puppy.

Deposits can be made via PayPal, Venmo, checks, or money orders.  Deposits are applied to the final purchase price of your puppy. We RESERVE THE RIGHT TO RETURN OR REFUSE A DEPOSIT OR TO SELL A PUPPY IF WE DEEM IT NECESSARY AND NOT A GOOD FIT TO ANY PERSON OR FAMILY.  We as the breeder have the right to first choice on all litters.

Question 3

Contract and Health Guarantee

Whispering Pines Farm Miniature Dachshunds endorses our contract and considers it a legal and binding document for the safety and well-being of our puppies. All families are required to read and sign this document before picking up their puppy.  We offer a one-year health guarantee on all of our puppies. This guarantee is for life-threatening hereditary illnesses only.

Question 4

Registration Papers

All of our dogs are purebreds. All litters are registered through AKC and/or CKC. Our puppies are offered with limited papers except to approved breeders at an additional cost of $500 for full papers (breeding rights).

Question 5

When Can We Pick Up Our Puppy?

Our puppies do not leave our care until they are 8 weeks old. Puppies are expected to be picked up on their ready date. If this date is not convenient for you, please contact us immediately to arrange an alternate date. Any puppy not picked up within 72 hours of the agreed pickup date can be subject to a $10 per day boarding charge and/or placed up for sale with the deposit forfeited.

Question 6

Shipping/Transport

We do not ship our puppies. Puppies can be picked up at our home by appointment.
If you would like to fly in to get your puppy, we can meet you at our Knoxville McGhee Tyson (TYS) Airport for an additional $25 to cover our gas and parking fee.   Additionally, if the airlines require a health certificate to fly.  My vet charges $48 for this and that cost will be passed on to the purchaser.  The puppy will need to stay with you in the cabin of the airplane. You will need to bring a soft-sided small crate to hold the puppy for the flight.

Please note United Airlines has banned all animals in their cabins.  It is your responsibility to make sure you can bring your puppy inside the cabin with you.  We do not allow our puppies to be transported in any cargo hold.

What Is the Price of Your Puppies?

Question 8

What Is Included With the Price of Our Puppy?

Our puppies come with their first vaccine against canine distemper, adenovirus type 2, parainfluenza, and parvovirus. Our puppies are NOT vaccinated against Leptospira, as small breeds can have allergic reactions to that vaccine. Puppies are wormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks of age. They come with a puppy pack including a blanket, toys, a pee pad, and other goodies. You will also get a small bag of Royal Canin small puppy kibble sample of food. They will also have a sample of NuVet supplement.

Sales Policy

Our dachshunds are our four-legged children that we love very much. Their health and well-being and those of their puppies are our highest priority. We are in NO WAY  a puppy mill, nor do we sell to puppy brokers or pet stores.
 
We are not "in business" to sell puppies to make money but instead to share the love of these beautiful, loving companions to families. We only hope to recoup some of the time, effort, and money it takes to maintain a healthy, happy pack. Most of the money made goes right back into the care of our dogs.
 
Our puppies are hand-raised from the day they are born in our home. We feed them Purina One Healthy Puppy kibble with plenty of fresh water and treats as well as a wonderful supplement called NuVet.   All our dogs, including all our puppies, are on this supplement. We feel it gives the babies a better start in life, so they are healthy and happy.
 
All of our puppies are purebred, and all litters are CKC- and/or AKC-registered. "Full" AKC rights are offered to approved breeders only. There is a $500 upcharge for full papers.  Otherwise, AKC papers will be offered at a "pet limited" status. You will be asked to sign a spay/neuter contract and have the puppy fixed before the age of one year old.  
 
We reserve the right to refuse any sale at our discretion. One of the perks we offer is when you buy a puppy from us, you get "us" as well. This means that any time you have questions or concerns, we are just an email or phone call away even after you take your puppy home. If at any time you no longer want the dog, instead of taking it to a shelter, you can return it to us at no charge, and we will find it a suitable home.

Question 11

Refund Policy

We do our best to ensure all puppies are healthy and represented honestly. We offer a one-year health guarantee. Details are stated in our puppy contract, which is located on our Available Puppies page.
 
Please read the puppy contract before placing a deposit on a puppy. While all our dogs are registered dachshunds, we can in no way guarantee the adult size of your puppy. Our adults range in size from 7 pounds to 14 pounds. We encourage you to also take the time to look over your new puppy and get acquainted to make sure he or she meets the needs of your family.
 
If at any time you are not satisfied with the way a puppy looks or acts, or you decide not to accept him/her and terminate the sale, it is perfectly okay. We do not refund the deposit or purchase price if you change your mind.
 
We do not sell puppies until they are fully weaned, eating puppy food and we are confident they will be fine to transition to their new home. It is your responsibility to watch your puppy closely during the first 72 hours and take him/her to a licensed veterinarian.
 
If you feel your puppy is not adjusting, feel free to call or text us with any questions or concerns.

Question 12

Allergies

It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure family members are not allergic to the puppy PRIOR to placing a deposit or purchasing. If a member of the buyer's immediate family is allergic to the purchased puppy and is no longer able to care for the puppy, we will not refund the purchase price, but we will take the puppy back and try to rehome him/her.

We will not reimburse the buyer for any purchases related to the puppy, including but not limited to crates, toys, food, dishes, collars, and/or invisible fencing or supplies related to training or travel expenses. We are not responsible for any medical bills related to an allergic reaction to the puppy.

Full payment of any remaining balance in cash is expected upon pickup. We do not take checks at pickup.  Payment can be made through PayPal, Venmo, or by check/money order for the deposit only.  Please be prepared to pay for the puppy at the time of pickup with exact change in cash.
